Conquer The Lagoon

TALIFIT is more than a brand; designed in Bora Bora and as the architects of the 8th TALIFIT RACE, we host the world’s most prestigious Va’a festival on the sand of Matira Beach. For five days, we host an international field of paddlers — from all around the world — in the iconic waters of Bora Bora.

2026 registrations are closed.

The Race That Brought the World to Bora Bora

A Race Born From Passion

6 days of competition across Matira Beach lagoon.

From a local outrigger canoe gathering to an international event — the TALIFIT Race has grown into the Pacific’s most iconic Va’a competition. Paddlers from Hawaii, Brazil, Canada, New Zealand, and across French Polynesia come to race these turquoise waters.

V1 sprints, V6 marathons, kids races, and the legendary 18km Aito — all set against the world’s most beautiful lagoon.

Ancestral Sport

The Spirit of Va’a

Va’a — the outrigger canoe — is more than a sport in Polynesia. It is the vessel that carried our ancestors across the Pacific Ocean thousands of years ago, navigating by stars, currents, and the mana of the ocean.

Today, Va’a racing is the most practiced sport in French Polynesia. From solo V1 canoes to six-person V6 crews, it unites communities, preserves cultural identity, and connects paddlers to an unbroken lineage of Polynesian seafarers.

In Bora Bora, the lagoon is our arena. The TALIFIT Race honors this heritage by bringing the world to race where the tradition was born — in waters so clear you can see the ocean floor beneath your paddle.

Every Paddle Tells a Story

We came 36 strong from Hawaiʻi. Bora Bora, the Va'a, the people — it's all heart. This is more than a race. It's ohana.
